Guidance and Procedures for
Members
Introduction
We would
like to welcome you as a new member of Fife Shotokan Karate Club, which is
affiliated to the Highland Karate Association. Through your membership and
training, you will join with us in seeking to achieve the objectives of the
Association, namely:
1.
To promote the style of Shotokan
Karate
2.
To maintain the highest standards
in all respects
3.
To promote, regulate and protect
the interests of its membership
4.
To maintain close liaison with the
various national bodies effecting control of both karate and Martial Arts in
general
Licence and Membership
·
Individual students must hold an
individual licence book and licence for insurance purposes as well as to be
eligible for gradings and HKA sponsored events
·
Licence application forms must be
completed and passed to the instructors within one month of commencing training
·
Students are also required to pay
an annual membership fee that helps meet the costs associated with the running
of the club. This fee is payable each September.
Etiquette and Safety
·
This club promotes a high standard
of etiquette and health and safety. You should retain the document, “Rules of
the Dojo” for future reference which outlines our expectations of students.
·
Any changes in relation to medical
conditions you have which your Instructor should be aware of and changes in
relation to emergency contact numbers must be notified to the Instructor
without delay.

Comments and Complaints
Any
concerns regarding the facilities used must be reported to Centre Staff
Concerns
regarding the conduct of other students must be shared with your instructor
